The concept of scent-induced memories, prompted me to create personality identifications and preserve memories with the help of fragrances. This was executed by putting experiences in “boxes” in the form of bottles / jewelry. The process itself gives the work a higher intention and dimension of thought beyond the “adult” logic. Morská Panda was created while doing creative activities with my niece, and its innocent verbal rearrangement only reinforced the meaning of this project for me.

The project aims to preserve memories and situations through fragrance. By tracking the time span (which was divided into three parts), thanks to my niece, the result was much more diverse than it initially seemed. I initially planned to document my whole life in scents. I split the life sections into several phases and tried to match them with my memories.

Coincidentally, when examining important sections of my work, the question came to attention from my niece: “Do you know who Ariel is?” I reacted negatively, automatically, as if I had no idea who or what it was. Surprisingly, she responded instructively, “It’s a sea panda.” It is “sea panda” that has acquired a great deal of logic and meaning with me.

The main motivators for me were drawings of sea pandas, meetings with my niece, and especially her view of life and the overall situations that got me back to childhood in a way. It gave me an easier idea of child logic. The primary endeavor was only to re-empathize or survive at least partially the childhood in the time in which Tatiana was currently.

A sea panda becomes a symbol of the whole work of childhood logic. It is a synonym of the project.

Documentation photos from the photographed stages are used during the installation, all jewelry is placed in a jewelry box, which is made of Plexiglas and falls asleep. Subsequently, the installation is completed by a glass object "Basket on the scent", which is made of borosilicate glass and around it with tubes of collected scents. Each one tube has a text below it, in which the composition of the fragrance and the harvesting stage are broken down.
